Amanda McMurray has a deep commitment to creation of business opportunities from science and technology, drawn from over 15 years of experience of innovation, investment and business start-up and growth.

She has proven expertise in innovative strategic planning and business development, understanding small and start-up business, including those planning to spin out from the academic sector, particularly well and a track record of growing and raising funding for small bio and biomedical technology businesses as well as a portfolio from wider technology sectors.

She is an experienced business owner, owning Amanda McMurray Associates, a company supporting small, new and pre-start businesses though services and business and professional mentoring, has held interim and non-executive positions for several small businesses and is a mentor to three early-career professionals.

Amanda is a member of the East of England Steering group of Astia Global, a mentor on the Cambridge Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning IGNITE programme, a coach and panel member for various Entrepreneurship programmes and a judge for Biotechnology YES Business Plan competition.

She has background in bioscience and holds a PhD in Chemistry, the MBA from the Cass Business School, London and the Institute of Directors’ Diploma in Directorship.
