Since its inception in August 2011 beaut-e has been on an incredible journey. From the humble beginnings of starting a Twitter account on a bank holiday Monday, to winning a Jacqueline Gold (Ann Summers CEO) #WOW award in October all the way through to the launch of the new website in early May 2012.

beaut-e is a new and fresh approach to buying and selling beautiful handmade beauty products and vintage beauty items online which was inspired by founder Elle and her lifelong obsession with toiletries and beauty products. Then, as a teenager, she developed the common skin condition can. Elle searched in vain for products that would not dry out her skin and this paved the way to using handmade and organic products.

Confirmation that the team at beaut-e were on to something special came when Elle won a Jacqueline Gold #WOW (Women on Wednesday) award back in October 2011. The weekly competition is run on Twitter every Wednesday by the famous entrepreneur when she asks women in business to tweet her details of their businesses between 1pm and 3pm. She then re-tweets her top 3 each week to her 25,000 followers along with a personal tweet direct to each of the winners, her tweet to beaut-e was:

Elle and the team have since worked tirelessly on the website and sourcing sellers to add products to the site and they now have a beautiful range of handmade and organic beauty products, some of which look good enough to eat!

Since the website launch on 5th May, beaut-e now has sellers from England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Portugal, Denmark and New Zealand so are building a truly global beauty community! Sellers of vintage products also have an opportunity to sell on the beaut-e website and as other ideas come to fruition the possibilities are endless!

Founder Elle says of the future of beaut-e: Our goal is to become the worldwide source for fabulous handmade, natural, organic and vintage beauty products all in one place!
