BroadBeat Choir

BroadBeat Choir is a fun and informal choir made up mainly of adults based in Norfolk. There is no requirement to read music or have singing experience, just a desire to sing and the enthusiasm to take part. We sing a mixture of songs from shows, films and charts. Join us at:

BroadBeat Choir was formed in February 2012 starting with just 12 members and we now have two groups with over 50 members in total. Both choirs learn the same songs and come together to form a larger choir to perform at local events. On Monday 15th April 2013 a new choir will begin at The City of Norwich School in Norwich and will run on Monday evenings from 7.15pm - 8.45pm.

We do not audition new members, everyone is welcome whatever their ability. We have members who are new to singing as well as those who have many years experience. Also, we do not split people into voice type so if you want to join the group singing the melody you can. We form two groups within the choir - 'Hinges' and 'Brackets'. If you choose to join the Brackets then you will usually sing the harmony and accompaniment to the main song. The Hinges mainly sing the melody. For some songs the two groups are split into top and bottom Hinges, left and right Brackets. Often when we start a song a few members start to walk across the room to change groups giving them the freedom to choose.

Fees are charged on a 'PAY-AS-YOU-SING' basis at £3 per session

No auditions, no requirement to read music, we do not segregate into voice type, if you wish to be in the group that sings the melody then you can. Broadland and Neatishead BroadBeat - bring your own mug so I don't have to wash up - please contribute 30p towards refreshments. Unfortunately these facilities are not available at Norwich BroadBeat.
