Cornish 'bird' takes flight

Inspirational artist and Cornwall Enterprising Women member Jayne Tarasun's unique, quirky and stylish bird feeders will be featured as part of an 'urban garden' at this year's Chelsea Flower Show.

Jayne with her bird feedersIt was a fantastic start to 2011 for Jayne of Flock-follies when she received a call from the garden's designer on New Year's Eve letting her know he wanted to showcase her product within his display at the world-reknowned gardening event taking place from May 24 to 28.

Jayne said: "It was fantastic news. It is extremely difficult to exhibit at the show, and very expensive, so this is a real opportunity to get my bird feeders seen by a wider audience and I can't wait to see the result. I am in the process of arranging mass production in the UK of the bird feeders as there is a growing demand for them both here and in America - it really is an exciting time for the business."

So far Jayne has made all the bird feeders by hand and to celebrate the imminent positive changes to her business she is offering all Enterprising Women members the opportunity to purchase one of the final hand produced bird feeders for only £35 plus post and packaging (normally £55).

Jayne only set up Flock-follies in early 2010 but things have really started to take off for the eclectic, flamboyant artist who began creating these funky feeders at her kitchen table in Gweek.

So to quote New York band They Might Be Giants isn't it time you made space for "a little birdhouse in your soul'.
