Pulse Health Screening is run by Registered Nurse – Sue Bedford who has many years of experience in health screening.
Pulse Health Screening is able to offer health screening in the home or workplace. Discounts are available for 5 people or more at the same venue.

Pulse Health Screening can also offer advice on insurance medicals and arrange pre-employment health screening for SME companies.
The latest service offers a referral to a clinic in Harley Street or Bedford for thermography. This is becoming better known as an effective way to detect breast changes that may lead to cancer. Many women are now choosing thermography as a preferred screening method over mammography. With no breast contact and no radiation, thermography is totally safe and has been found to detect breast lumps many years earlier than a mammogram. Pulse Health Screening also recommend the Breast Chek Self-Examination Kit to help women perform their own regular breast examination - available from www.pinkhealth.net.
The services offered by Pulse Health Screening are unique to the region. More details can be found at www.pulsescreening.co.uk
Sue Bedford qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1980. She worked in a variety of specialities in both NHS and private hospitals in London over the following years. In 1987, she moved to Bedford and took a 10 year career break to have her four children.
Sue undertook a Return to Nursing course in 1998, initially working in the Outpatients department at Bedford Hospital. Her passion for health screening came about when she took up a Practice Nurse post, which also led to her interest in cardiovascular health.
Sue left the surgery in 2002 to do medicals on a freelance basis for insurance companies. She also completed diploma courses in Nutrition and Health Promotion. This gave her the opportunity to set up a company called Healthy Choices ( www.healthychoices.co.uk) offering nutrition & lifestyle advice and a range of health products, locally.
When Sue heard about a new artery screening device in early 2005, she realised this would be an ideal tool to give her business a unique selling point. And after an article about the device appeared in the national newspapers, she was soon booking tests across Beds, Bucks and Herts.
Sue decided to set up a new company Pulse Health Screening to offer health screening within a 25-mile radius of Bedford and this has led to developing a wide range of tests and services to individuals and companies, which are unavailable anywhere else in the region.
