"Ignorance is not bliss, it can cost you money."
Jenny has worked in social research and related activities since graduating from the University of East Anglia. Her first research post was for social services in Worcestershire. In the mid 1970s she was involved in the evaluation of community and youth work projects all over Britain for the Community Projects Foundation.
She then moved to Leicester and worked on racial equality issues for nine years, initially in the Council for Community Relations and then as a member of the newly established Race Relations Unit in Leicester City Council.
In 1988, she moved to Norfolk to work as a researcher for the Probation Service for five years. This was followed by a number of temporary contracts including work as a university contract researcher and as a project manager for a range of health promotion projects.
In 1993, Jenny and her partner Mark Barton launched Research Plus+, an independent research business. This became a full time business in 2000.
In her spare time, Jenny likes gardening and walks on the beach and is a firm believer in complementary medicine.
