I started my own business in 2001 with the aim of providing a top quality service in design and bespoke cabinet/furniture making and furniture restoration.
Cabinet/furniture making is a subtle mix of craftsmenship using modern and traditional materials alongside established techniques, incorporating a wide choice of timbers. Furniture restoration is carried out using the correct materials and glues to conform with the age of the piece but always to the highest possible standard.
I have over 25 years experience as a bespoke cabinet maker building and restoring furniture in all its shapes and forms. From large fitted cabinets and pieces of furniture to intricately inlayed antique furniture and boxes and small items of treen.
'You never stop learning' is the saying which led me to embark on a course in Computer Aided Design (CAD) an ongoing learning process. I am also a memeber of the Association of Great Britain Woodturners.
Development of the business continues but the basic concept remains; all the furniture I make or restore will be completed to give customers the highest quality of work and level of satisfaction.
Creating and restoring fine furniture for future generations.
From small beginnings of doing woodwork as part of my school syllabus I took the only training option open to women, who wanted a hands on career in cabinet making at that time, and embarked on five years of full time education. After a year at Southend-on-Sea College of Technology I moved on to the London College of Furniture. There I mixed with talented lecturers and students from around the world gaining an invaluable amount of knowledge, skills and insight into the manufacture of furniture in all its forms.
My qualifications are;
Fifteen years working in a company which dealt with London's top interior designers and antique dealers took my work around the world and myself to Greece as part of a team on a large scale job.
I worked on an extensive range of furniture, building and restoring, developing my skills and increasing my knowledge and appreciation.
Outside of work my interests are Scuba Diving, walking, cycling and visiting histrorical houses and gardens. I also enjoy learning about other crafts.
