My business works with clients in the later stages in their lives. My particular area of expertise is care fee planning. I help families who are facing the decision of placing a loved one in a care home.
I work with them to find the best way to fund the fees to ensure that their loved one can remain in the care home of their choice indefinately. I provide support and advice at a stressful time. When working with the family it is the dependent who is my my priority,as they are often quite vunerable at this stage in their lives. I take time to understand their priorities, whether it be simply funding their care fees, protecting their estate or preserving their estate.
My experience with working with care home helps me add value as I can often direct families to the ideal home for their loved on.
I also help home owners over the age of 55 raise funds by releasing equity in their homes. I encourage the client to include their children as it is important that the children (as beneficiaries of their parents will) understand what is happening.
I am incredibly lucky as I get to work and speak with many wonderful people and get an immense amount of job satisfaction as a result of knowing that I have helped a family at a particularly stressful time in their lives.
The team at CareMatters are highly qualified and experts in their chosen field.
I spent that last 22 years working with the major banks and this is where I gained my professional qualifications and experience. I have always worked in the advisory sector (protection, pensions and investments), but 3 years ago I transferred to the Corporate section of Barclays. I became Area Sales Manager of Local Business in Hertfordshire. This really added another string to my bow as I gained a huge amount of experience working with business owners. My team and I were under incredible pressure to achieve targets and I found I was becoming increasingly disatisfied with the repetitive sales meetings and the 14 hour days.
So, at the beginning of this year I decided to join a good friend who had set up his own IFA business. Whilst it has been an emotional roller coaster (particularly losing a monthly pay packet), I know I am a happier and more fulfilled person.
As a result of my business experience I have been able to help businesses provide employee benefits, but also ways to protect the profits in the event of illness.
I decided that I wish to focuss on working with people who have a familiy member who needs to go and live in a home, so I took the necessary qualifications and now advise in long term care planning. I also help those home owners over the age of 55 release cash or an income from their homes.
To advise in Equity Release and Long Term care fee planning, I took additional financial qualifications.
I love what I am doing, and people find me professional, approachable and of course totally independent. This is evident in the number of referrals I receive from my clients. If you think I can help you, then please do call me.
From a personal point of view, I am married - no children, although I am the adopted mother of Millie the cat - who often forgets who pays the mortgage!
