Small Spark is a Cambridge-based, tailored IT training provider with a customer-centred approach.

Small Spark has one mission: to empower its clients by developing their skills and boosting their confidence.

Thus our training is:

• On-site: we train you wherever you need it, on your computer if possible.
• Task-based: we focus on the tasks you want and/or need accomplish.
• Relevant: we devise your training programme with you, around your personal circumstances.
• Well-paced: our sessions often last about 2 hours, as and when you need them. This allows you to practice what you learnt in between each session.
• Problem-solving: we look at your personal and business challenges and use our expertise to help you solve your IT-related issues.

We work with people at different stages of their careers: when preparing for their first job, when adapting to a new job, when their responsibilities change or when setting up their own businesses.

We work with employers and employees alike, within companies or at individual peopleís homes ñ so that they train on the computers and software packages they use most.

We help people with:

• the general principles of information management - how to manage emails, diaries, spreadsheets...
• the Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Publisher
• other office suite software OpenOffice, Google Documents..
• internet browsers - Explorer, Firefox, Opera...
• email clients - Thunderbird, webmail...
• as well as basic html, Picasa and more

We can also work with software companies on delivering training on bespoke software, either as part of an existing training team, or instead of one.

Finally, we occasionally get ask to give talks and run workshops and surgeries on specific topics.

Agnès Aubert

Agnès is Small Spark's Director. She is a French native who fell in love with the UK over 10 years ago.

A French teacher by trade, she came to IT from the user side. Unhappy with not finding training solutions adapted to her needs, she taught herself IT and started by sharing her knowledge with friends and colleagues.

A curious linguist by nature - she also teaches French! - she likes to understand the technical issues behind software, as it often explains why user interfaces are the way they are.

A people person, Agnès likes helping and empowering people.

For the past 5 years, she has been sharing her experience, skills and enthusiasm with Small Spark's clients.

Her speciality: teaching complete beginners, technophobes and those who say that they are "too (something or other) to use computers"
