CVs are rarely read all the way through, unless they grab the readerís attention in the first two paragraphsÖÖÖ

Your CV is a ìSales Toolî it must portray you and your skills in a light that encourages the reader to want to short list you or invite you for interviewÖÖÖ

Too much information on your CV is as bad as too little, a CV that is hard to read will be skimmed over and important strengths may be missedÖÖÖ

Remember you will often be relying on your CV to make that all-important first impression for you so it is essential to make it as strong as possible.

Our CV service comprises the following:

• A free appraisal of your existing CV and recommendations on how improvements could be made.
• A full pre-CV interview, either face to face or over the phone to allow us to get a feel for the kind of roles you will be applying for, and where your strengths and weaknesses lie.
• A new CV written for you and supplied in a presentation folder, comprising 2 hard copies and disc holding your CV and 2 cover letter templates for future job applications.

All CVs are compiled by a recruitment industry professional and can be tailored to specific job applications or written for a more general blanket approach. The Copy on disc allows you to easily make changes should you wish to alter the focus of your CV in the future.

INTERVIEW COACHING

The key to performing well at an interview is planning.

Our coaching sessions will guide you through every step of an interview covering all of the following topics.

• Confirmation of an interview.
• Pre interview preparation.
• Personal Presentation.
• Body language.
• In the interview.
• Closing the interview.
• Follow up contact.
• Interviews through an agency.

Coaching sessions can be conducted on a 1-1 or group basis and can be aimed at general interview techniques or tailored to specific job applications.

The sessions are conducted with aid of detailed notes, which are yours to add to during the session and take away with you for reference and to refresh your memory before your interviews.

Evening and weekend appointments can be made to assist you with last minute preparation or for interviews arranged at short notice.

• Group sessions are run at regular intervals; please ask for the next available date.

Alison Farrow

Took a while to find my "niche" initially trained as a Veterinary Nurse, sold Veterinary Pharmaceuticals, single handedly ran pubs and restaurants for 7 years before stumbling into recruitment!

Became very disillusioned with "High Street" recruitment and the ethos that you should SELL jobs to candidates and candidates to clients.

ABCV was founded in October 04 with the express intention of providing a recruitment service that places equal importance on the level of service given to both clients and candidates.

From a Luton base, the company is owned and run by Alison with the able assistance of 2 rescue dogs (actually no use to the business at all but great sounding boards/ stress toys!)
