I'm a self employed trainer and consultant with over 12 years training and project management experience. My background is in Technology SMEs and more recently, personal development training. In short, I specialise in getting things done. I'm an experienced project manager who is up for a challenge and thrives on variety. In addition to project managing and training I am also an experienced facilitator and run career, skills and personal development courses for a local educational development charity for 14- 19 yr old, undergraduates and postgraduates.

I'm the perfect example of someone without any kind of career plan. Everything I've ever done I've just fallen into because I was there and it was interesting! It seems to have worked out fine so far! As a science graduate from Newcastle Uni, I hung up my lab coat long ago and headed for Cambridge. I spent over 8 years working for various well know Cambridge Technology SMEs in training and commercial roles. Was lucky enough in these roles to travel and see the world - from Nova Scotia to Asia. When I had clocked up enough air miles I decided to look for something else. Over the last 3 years I have worked for and with an educational development charity offering skills, career and personal development training. This has been great and I love seeing people starting to understand what strengths they have and how best to use and develop them. Most recently (Jan '06) I started my own business as a freelance trainer and consultant and it has been great and very much the rollercoaster ride that everyone talks about. I just love the variety and meeting all sorts of interesting people along the way.

Away from all the worky stuff I'm a keen rower for City of Cambridge RC and I've also just got into running quite seriously. I'm hoping to complete the Great North Run in October!! My other less active pursuit is shoes. Totally obsessed, love them to bits, have over 80 pairs. I even thought I wanted to make shoes so went on a shoe making course. I then found out how useless I was with a sewing machine and decided to stick with the day job!
