VSS Diagnostic Services Ltd. ( Pathology Diagnostics Ltd.) provides independent specialist pathology diagnostic consultancy services on a contract basis to support drug development from target discovery to clinical trials. Based in Cambridge, we work with a diverse range of organisations in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. The major area of expertise of the company is in oncology research and clinical diagnostics. Medical pathology expertise, combined with scientific knowledge, is essential at many stages in the drug development pathway.

Madhuri Warren

Dr. Madhuri Warren has a sixteen year background in clinical/academic medicine, with a specialization in medical histopathology, and a ten year background in basic science, including molecular biology, genetics and comparative pathology. She is a graduate of Clare College, University of Cambridge (1988), Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists, and an active member of European and US comparative pathologist organisations, including pathologist expert panels, training groups and educational organisations committed to the education and training of pathologists in academia and industry. She has collaborated on and published several scientific papers in high ranking peer-reviewed journals in the field of cancer research.

From 2002 ñ 2006 she returned to Cambridge where she combined clinical work as a University lecturer with an academic career, including the establishment of a pathology diagnostic research laboratory, from which she has gained substantial experience in team management, laboratory organisation, scientific project management and strategic development.

From 2006, Madhuri developed and expanded her industry links by providing pathology diagnostic consultancy services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and contract research organisations. She is committed to developing and promoting the use of medical and molecular pathology expertise in the newly emerging fields of biomarker development and clinical diagnostics.

Madhuri is committed to the support of women in science and the development of mentoring networks, and is an active member of various networks in Cambridge and the East Anglian area. She is a registered mentor with the EW mentoring scheme.
