Colourart

Colourart was founded by Amanda Northfield in February 2007 to provide contemporary artwork at affordable prices. It started with a range of abstract designs to rival mass-produced artwork from high street stores. The ethos behind Colourart is that the customer can expect an original hand painted piece of decorative art which is affordable.

The range of designs soon evolved from a group of abstract pieces to a comprehensive range of designs including a large number of nursery designs aimed at the childrens interior decoration market. The nursery design range has proved to be very popular.

I have attended several art and craft fairs with my artwork, but the majority of my artwork is sold through www.colourart.co.uk

The range of artwork is continuously expanding and the plans for the future of the business is to grow from a work at home business into a studio space, with an exhibition area.

Amanda Northfield

I am a work at home mum, with two young children. I studied textile design at university and afterwards spent ten years working in the textile industry as a designer and colourist. After the birth of my second child I took the decision to put a hold on my career to care for my very small children, however I missed being creative and I took up painting onto canvas. I put my first piece onto the internet and it sold, so I decided to put together a collection of work.

The business is still in its early days and I plan to expand the business further. I am busy with the orders that come in, it is particularly satisfing to produce a commissioned piece of artwork to a customer's individual requirements and they are happy with the end result.
