Rainbow Trading is the name I have given to my company, but it has (or will have when I've finished!) three separate product lines. They all involve the essential oils of Aromatherapy. One product line ( In the Pink therapy oils) I have fully developed but the website is still being created. Another product line ( Blue Moon Botanicals) I am still working on. But the third product – and I am very excited about it! – is ready to market! It is called AromaAlert!
Basically it is a high quality diffuser which is used in the 12v accessory socket (cig lighter) of your car. Completely safe, it gently heats a cotton wick onto which you put a dozen or so drops of a special stimulating blend of herbal essential oils (the bottle provided with the diffuser will last for up to a year). The device can be switched on and off, will last for many years, and unlike most conventional 'air fresheners' it does not contain harmful chemicals or toxins. One of the essential oils used is peppermint, which can help combat driver fatigue and those dangerous lapses of attention at the wheel. Peppermint works directly on the limbic system of the brain to stimulate, invigorate and refresh. It also helps reduce stress (on our increasingly congested roads today), aggression (road rage?) and could be helpful to people who can't smoke in their cars anymore! This would be a brilliant product for any enterprising (and thus exhausted!) woman, a great idea for increasing the safety of loved ones who drive a lot in their work, or would just make a fantastic gift for someone you care about. It costs £14.99, incl VAT and postage.
I am a youthful and energetic 47 year old single woman, recovering from the devastating shock of my husband leaving me 2 years ago, and the subsequent incredibly painful divorce. I moved from Nottingham to Bury St Edmunds to help me start a new life, and I really do love the town, and have made many new friends in Suffolk. I am trained as a Maths teacher (although my first degree is in Biochemistry), but I have also worked for 20 years as an administrator and event organiser. I have worked part time for 2 years with the Bury St Edmunds Chamber of Commerce, which has really given me the taste for running my own company, as over 70% of its members are sole traders, like me. So I am fortunate to be in the position of having a readymade bunch of people to network with! I have recently joined WIRE (Women in Rural Enterprise) and this provides another opportunity for networking, as well as lots of news on up-coming fairs, training, etc. I rent a beautiful Grade II listed house in the centre of Bury, and when I am not at The Chamber, working on my business or teaching the piano, I am in my lovely garden growing vegetables and herbs. I do not like to use chemicals either in the home or on my body, if I can help it, hence my interest in chemical-free cosmetics, and the power of plants and their essential oils. If anyone has tried my product AromaAlert! and is happy with it, I would love to have some feedback. I would also appreciate any help you can give me in marketing the product, as I think its a marvellous and possibly life-saving gadget, and I want all the world to know about it!
